We're going to Providence...

Hard to believe but we will celebrate our 17th anniversary this weekend. And, as we have done since we returned to New England five years ago, we're going to Providence, RI. We've had GREAT trips to this small city - lots of walking, exploring art and music and relaxing - so even though this will be a shorter trip, we're heading outta town.

I have known Di since we first met on a peace trip to the former Soviet Union back in 1984. That's 28 years.  We realized back in the day that we connected, but I was married with two wonderful children.  So, we chose to both honor my vows and not go deeper.  Eventually, I was separated and we discovered that we still wanted to be connected.  After my divorce we were married - and have been all over the world together in the past 17 years.  Like any couple, we've had hard times but we've also known joy and great fun, intimacy and respect.

We love the same things:  art, music, literature, film, long walks, good food, the mysteries of faith and discovering beauty in the most unlikely places - including one another.  This day I give thanks to God for bringing Di into my life.

Congratulations on your 17th!!!

One of the most precious gifts from God is the gift of someone to love, cherish, share your thoughts, and your darkest and most beautiful moments every day of your lives. It's when you look deeply into your loved ones eye's you know there is a God and God is with you. How can any person or any group deny this gift to ANY two loving people?

Again, Congratulations!!!
