We are headed out of the loop for a few days of being with family: the memorial service for Dianne's mother is Monday afternoon and we will be there for a few days to connect, conduct family business and let this whole sad affair sink in. Our cousins in Judaism sure know how to do all this much better than we Christians by sitting shiva or 7 days. Nevertheless, we are off after worship and will be out of contact for a bit.
One of the ways we will return thanks to God for the life of Shirley is to sing our version of Tom Waits great tune, "Come On Up to the House." It seems to express her whole gentle and humble spirituality...
