days in Portland ME. We've walked by the beach, prowled around the city at night and in the day, found terrific sea food and had lots of time to move slowly and catch up.
Today we'll take in the art museums and some live music before heading back to real life in the morning. When we get home there are church council meetings and retreats to experience, planning for next year's stewardship drive, bringing our Sunday School experiment to a close for the season and putting together a rock and soul benefit for our mission partners at BEAT (berkshire environmental action team.) This is the time of year when our church wraps up existing ministries and takes the summer to discern and plan new directions.
For the past 5 years we've made an annual wandering trip to Montreal - and that will take place again at the end of June - life in the slow lane is filled with unexpected treasures.
